The Skeletal System

The Skeletal System is the body's framework for support and protection. The average adult human skeleton has 206 permanent individual bones (in addition to cartilage and ligaments) that store minerals such as calcium which can be supplied to other parts of the body. The bones are joined to ligaments and tendons to form a protective, supportive framework for the attached muscles and the soft tissues and underlie it. The skeleton plays an important part in movement by providing a series of independently movable levers, which the muscles can pull to move different parts of the body. The skeleton also produces red blood cells from bone marrow of certain bones, and produces white blood cells from the marrow of  other bones to destroy harmful bacteria.

The Skeleton consists of:

  • The Skull
  • The Spine
  • The Ribs
  • The Sternum (breastbone)
  • The Shoulders,
  • The Pelvis and their attached limb bones

"The Paved Highway of Belief through touch and sight leads straightest into the human heart and the precints of the mind."- Lucretius

As long as the spirit is strong, the body will follow for the body is forever the slave of your mind and can be willed to achieve great feats.

A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug.
