The Muscular System

The Muscular System houses the individual skeletal muscles, voluntary, involuntary, cardiac muscles and tendons. This system includes over 600 muscles of the body which purpose is movement. Muscles, which are attached to the bones by tendons and other tissues, exerts force by converting chemical energy into tension and contraction. They are made up of millions of tiny protein filaments that work together, contracting and releasing to produce motion in the body . Every single muscle in the body is connected to the brain and spinal cord by nerves. muscles have many functions.

We are equipped with 3 types of muscle:

  • Cardiac muscle - found only in the heart, (powers the pumping actions)
  • Smooth muscles - surround or are part of the internal organs, and skeletal muscles which are the muscles we use do to move our bodies. Cardiac an smooth muscles are involuntary and are not under any conscious control The skeletal muscle, carry out voluntary movement. They're the body's most abundant tissue, and comprise about 23% of a woman's body weight and about 40% of a man's body weight.

The Muscular System includes:

  • The Heart
  • Diaphragm
  • Intestinal Walls

"The Paved Highway of Belief through touch and sight leads straightest into the human heart and the precints of the mind."- Lucretius

As long as the spirit is strong, the body will follow for the body is forever the slave of your mind and can be willed to achieve great feats.

A strong positive mental attitude will create more miracles than any wonder drug.
